Reflection Holiday Park is located approx. 3 hours from Sydney travelling south to Goulburn and then south-west to Crookwell. You will also go through the small towns of Binda then turn off to Bigga.
The park is mainly bush camping - no power and is pet friendly. Camping is along the shores of Wyangular Dam with amenity blocks scattered throughout the park. It is suitable for all types of camping, tent, caravan, and motorhome plus there are cabins on site. There are only a very limited number of powered sites. It is ideal for water sports such as water skiing, fishing, kayaking, SUPS and anything you can think of in the water. It is rather isolated with no phone service (unless you arewith Optus or stand on your head holding trees in the exact location at the exact time) and an hour away from any major shops. There is a small shop on site but the hours change constantly depending on staffing so it is a really good idea to come totally prepared. One thing you will need while you are down there is ice which you can purchase from the shop.
Depending on the season you choose to visit will depend on what you need. In Summer it can be stifling hot but we take our Makita fans which cool us down enough to sleep. In Winter you can have fires and like most places ask that you take your firewood. It can drop below zero in winter and reach over 40 in summer.
What a day looks like at Grabine for the kids. We do what most families do and have breakfast. Then the boat goes in the water. If you have a boat you can take a trip over to the dam wall on the Cowra side where you will also find Reflections holiday park - Wyangular Water. You can also explore the Abercrombie and Lachlan rivers. Kayaks are also a load of fun if you have them. We spend most of our time on the water's edge in winter and summer. Some areas around the dam are sandy for sand play, others can get rather muddy.
Water safety - we always make our kids wear their life jackets and encourage others to do so. It is a dam and the water is not clear. Our kids just know they are not to enter the water without a jacket.
If the weather is bad and you like a decent road trip (talking 2 hours each way) you can drive around the dam to Cowra which has a heap of activities such as the Japanese gardens, prisoner of war camp and nice places to eat.
This place is really back to basics with no internet, a very small park for the kids, no planned activities by the park and dirt roads, including the drive in. It is really a make your own fun adventure. Recommendation to call and book beforehand as you don't want to get all the way out there.
