Q: What does UPF50+ mean?
A: UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor — a rating that shows how much UV radiation a fabric blocks. UPF50+ means it blocks around 98% of harmful UV rays, giving your child serious sun protection while they’re outdoors.
Q: Will the sun protection wash out over time?
A: No. Our UPF50+ protection is built into the fabric — it’s knitted into the fibres, not sprayed on. With proper care (cold wash, inside out, line dry) it keeps its performance season after season.
Q: Can my child swim in the shirt/dress?
A: Yes — the fabric is quick-dry and made for saltwater/beach use. However we do recommend rinsing after swimming in salt or chlorine and following the care instructions to ensure it stays in top shape.
Q: What fit should I choose? Is it true to size?
A: We design our shirts and dresses for real kids and active mums. Every product page links to a size chart with real measurements in centimetres — ladies shirts, ladies dresses, kids shirts, kids dresses and baby rompers each have their own chart.
Our shirts are true to size for everyday wear; if you prefer an oversized fit choose one size up. Our dress design is a slim fit — for a relaxed fit choose one size up, and for an oversized fit choose two sizes up.
We recommend measuring one of your favourite garments at home. Lay it on a flat surface and measure it lying flat — these are half measurements, which is what our size charts refer to.
Note: standard manufacturing tolerances of ±1-2 cm apply.
Q: Are there any variations or print placement differences?
A: Yes - in line with industry standards, slight variations in print placement, colour depth or sizing may occur (about ±1-2 cm) and are not considered faults. We test every print to ensure quality and colour retention.
Q: How durable are the prints and fabric for rough outdoor adventures?
A: Extremely durable - our 165 GSM, 100% polyester dry-fit fabric is fade-resistant and built to handle sand, salt, mud and repeated washes. Pretty much everything your little explorer will throw at it.
Q: What if we order in-stock items + a pre-order together?
A: If your order includes both in-stock and pre-order items, your entire order ships together once all items are ready. If you’d like in-stock items sooner, place them in a separate order.
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Not via our standard checkout — we currently ship Australia-wide only. If you’re overseas and would like to place an order, email us at hello@mwcac.com.au and we’ll check shipping options for you.
Q: How long does shipping take?
A: We dispatch within 3 business days (Monday–Friday) for standard items. During sale periods please allow up to 7-10 business days. You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking link once your order is on the move.
Q: Can I return or exchange if the item doesn’t fit or I change my mind?
A: Yes. You can return change-of-mind or wrong-size items within 30 days of delivery, unworn and unwashed, in their original condition with tags and packaging attached. Return postage is your responsibility and a $4.95 restocking fee applies (our prepaid return label is $10 if you’d like one). Both are deducted from your refund, and original shipping isn’t refunded. We don’t do direct exchanges: order the size you need, then return the original. Faulty or incorrect item? No fee, and we’ll sort it out. Final-sale and clearance items can’t be returned for change of mind.
Q: How do I care for my MWCAC UPF50+ shirt/dress?
A: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, inside out, with a small amount of mild liquid detergent. Never hot — heat distorts the fibres and opens up the weave, which is what lets UV through. No fabric softener, no dryer sheets and no chlorine bleach. Air dry where you can; polyester dries very fast on its own.
Q: What fabric are your UPF50+ shirts and dresses made from?
A: All MWCAC UPF50+ shirts and dresses are made from 165 GSM, 100% polyester dry fit — a light summer-weight knit that is breathable, moisture-wicking and quick-drying, and perfect for hot Aussie weather and active kids. The UPF50+ comes from the fabric itself, not a finish that washes off.
Q: What do I need to know about sale periods?
Do you offer free shipping during sale periods?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on orders of $120 or more, sale or not. Below that it’s $10, and Express is $20.
Can I use discount codes?
No. All discount codes are disabled during sale periods to keep things fair for everyone.
Will items sell out?
Yes. Popular prints and kids’ sizes go fast — once they’re gone, they’re gone.
What’s the returns policy?
Final-sale and clearance items can’t be returned for change of mind. Everything else follows our standard returns policy, and faulty items are always covered.
Can I cancel my order?
Only if it hasn’t been processed. We pack quickly, so choose carefully during busy periods.
Do orders include tracking?
Yes. Every order ships with Australia Post tracking.

A: Nope. We use full sublimation printing, not vinyl. That means the print is dyed into the fibres - no cracking, peeling, plastic feel or heat-pressed patches. It stays vibrant wash after wash.
Q: Do the fishing shirt cuffs stretch out over time?
A: No - we use ribbed sleeve cuffs to help the garment hold its shape, even after repeat washing and rough camp life.
Q: Are the styles unisex?
A: Yes — our fishing shirts and dress styles are designed to suit boys, girls and mums, with fits made for movement, comfort and long days outdoors.
Q: What sizes does the range come in?
A: Ladies shirts come in Australian sizes 8-26. Kids shirts come in sizes 2-14 and kids dresses in sizes 4-14. Baby fishing shirt rompers come in 00 (3-6 months), 0 (6-12 months) and 1 (12-18 months), with press studs underneath for nappy changes.
