First time Camping, What do we pack?

It is so daunting thinking about heading away camping for the first time, even more, daunting when you have a little one in toe.

That's why we have banded together to give you some MUST HAVE's with WINE being a clear winner.

A good quality sleeping bag paying attention to the temp.

I first purchased Kmart sleeping bags for kids and then had to pack a million other blankets. A well rated good quality meant no cold babies .

Gumboots - I wear gumboots all the time camping. After a shower I put my bed socks on and my gumboots are my slippers; if it’s raining you’re also covered. Love my gumboots.

A butane stove. They don’t take up much room, easy to use and cheap to operate (and you can still cook during a fire ban)

Esky with beer for arvo & milk for morning coffee.

Butane stove & kettle pot combo + kitchen box with food & utensils.

Good chair

Table

Gazebo or some sort of shelter

Simple first aid kit

Simple "fix it" kit with zip ties, duct tape, scissors & rope. Can "fix" quite a lot with those things

Easy cooking station. I like a big wide table/ lots of space.

A collapsible bucket and dish rack for dishes.

Comfy boots and/or gumboots especially for after showers.

Bath mat to get dressed on out of the showers

Good torches / lighting

Allow yourselves at least one night off cooking and go out or get takeaway
