Farm Adventures for the Kids
The highlight for our girls was meeting the baby goats — literally minutes old when we arrived! They got to hold and cuddle these tiny bundles of fluff while watching their mothers care for them. It was incredible to see the babies grow stronger during our two-night stay, and the girls were fascinated by every little moment of farm life.
But that was just the start. Hidden Hills offers plenty of interactive animal experiences:
- Patting the emu – our girls loved this, despite the big curious eyes and waddly antics.
- Giving Wonky the donkey a neck rub – simple, yet so rewarding for little hands.
- Feeding the highland cows from the buggy – the buggy ride itself was a hit, and getting up close with these gentle giants made it extra special.
- Brushing the baby highlands and bottle-feeding the lambs – the kids were over the moon to feel part of the farm routine.
Every activity is designed to be safe, engaging, and hands-on, giving children a real connection to animals and farm life.
The Camping Experience
Hidden Hills is all about the animals. The camp is interactive and gives a true taste of life on a working farm. Our girls instantly felt like little farmers - waking up to feed the animals, helping tuck them into their pens before dinner, and watching over the baby goats and highland cows. The campground itself is welcoming, spacious, and perfect for little explorers. Just a heads-up: you need to be fully self-contained and off-grid, with your own toilet and water. The hosts provide firewood, which made for some magical evenings around the campfire, sipping a drink, and soaking in the stunning sunsets.
